2025/26 Uganda Premier League | MD 17 | Wednesday February 18,
- Calvary FC 0-0 Express FC
Calvary FC and Express FC played out a goalless draw at Migido P/S on Wednesday evening in the Uganda Premier League.
For Calvary, still without a win in 17 matches, it was another night of effort without reward. For Express, who travelled with only four players on the bench, it was a missed chance to ease their inconsistent run.
The hosts started brightly. Simon Odeke rose well early on but headed over the bar. At the other end, Elvis Ssekajjugo failed to punish a mistake by Eric Otingcwinyu, sending his effort wide.
Calvary kept pushing. Lawrence Olaboro came close, only for Ashraf Mbazira to clear off the line and keep Express level.
A quick counterattack from the hosts was later ruled out for offside as the first half ended 0-0.
The pattern continued after the break. Otingcwinyu’s corner found Odeke again, but his header was off target.
Express won a free kick after Glory Kisuule was fouled, yet the Calvary wall stood firm.
Both coaches turned to their benches. Express introduced Lawrence Bukenya, Marvin Nyanzi and Amos Muwonge, while Calvary brought on Jeremy Matata and Ronald Olado.
The best chances still fell to the hosts. Odeke had a clear sight of goal but shot straight at goalkeeper Khassim Hafizu.
Opio Daniel then headed just wide as Calvary searched for a breakthrough. A few yellow cards followed as the game grew physical, but neither side could find the decisive touch.
After three minutes of added time, the match ended 0-0.
The result leaves Calvary bottom with five points and five draws, still chasing their first victory of the season.
Express record their sixth draw and third straight goalless match, and stay 11th on 18 points after 17 games.
Otingcwinyu was named Man of the Match for a solid display in defence.
Calvary next host SC Villa on March 2, while Express welcome Maroons FC on March 4.
