2025/26 Uganda Premier League | MD 22 | Wednesday April 8, 2026

  • Express FC Vs Police FC – 8 pm

Express return to Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo on Wednesday with a point to prove.

Their Uganda Cup journey ended painfully on Easter Sunday after a 3-0 loss to Kitara, halting a run that had begun to show promise. Now, all focus shifts to the league and the response must be immediate.

But the challenge is stern. Police arrive rested and confident, chasing a rare double over the Red Eagles.

Express have tried to steady themselves after mid-season changes. New faces like Mulumba Blanchar, Marvin Nyanzi and Kenneth Kimera have brought fresh energy following the departures of Muhammad Kagawa Ssenoga, Hakim Wandera and Richard Basangwa. The balance is still forming, but there is belief.

Police, meanwhile, look settled. Head coach Matia Lule has quietly built a competitive side now hovering around the title conversation.

Bedia Djuma Ikamba and Brian James Obedi have led the charge, while experienced figures like Mathias Kigonya, Richard Matovu and Saidi Kyeyune provide calm and control.

Their confidence comes from the first meeting this season. Police beat Express 2-1 at Kiira Road, with Umar Kasumba and Ikamba on target. That result now puts them within reach of a league double they last achieved in the 2017/18 season.

For Lule, facing his former club adds extra edge. For his players, it is a chance to show their growth.

A win would push Police into fifth place. Express, currently 10th with 23 points, need victory to move closer to the top eight.

Elsewhere, Maroons host BUL at Luzira at 4 pm
