The Kampala derby between Express FC and KCCA FC at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku will have the Ugandan football fraternity divided into two.

The last fixture of matchday 17 of the Uganda Premier League will see the hosts fight to guard their territory and complete a double over the Kasasiro boys.

The seven-time champions won the reverse fixture 2-1 at Philip Omondi Stadium Lugogo. With both sides under new coaches, we anticipate fireworks.

The two sides are separated by five points with Express’s Alex Isabiyre in 8th place with 25 points and KCCA’s Abdallah Mubiru 10th with 20.

The corresponding fixture last season ended in a 2-all draw and with both sides finding the back of the net lately, this rivalry will have goals in it.

In the previous fixture, Express lost 3-1 to Mbarara City at Kakyeeka, a defeat that ended their four-match winning streak while the Kasasiro were held to a goalless home draw by table leaders BUL.

KCCA FC tactician Mubiru told the club’s website that they are going into a game that means more than just winning three points.

“We have prepared our players mentally and physically ahead of this game. We have tried to work on our shortcomings in the previous game, especially in the final third. Everyone is ready to give their best in the derby.”
