The goal came in the 72nd minute and Express FC had the biggest chance to equalize with a free kick by Mikdad Ssenyonga but KCCA goalkeeper Charles Lukwago saved it fabulously.

The free kick that came just five minutes after Mikdad Sssenyonga and Ismael Ali were introduced to replace Henry Kalagi and Lawrence Bukenya.

However, Lukwago had made a similar important save earlier in the first half, coming from a Khasim Mustapha’s effort.

In a game which had big opportunities for both teams to score, Express FC struck the woodwork on two occasions in either halves with AbdulRashid Kawawa in the first half and Douglas Rwotngeyo in the second half with a header.

Express FC showed improvement in the game with Richard Basangwa leading them upfront just like their defensive partnership of Rwotngeyo and captain Ashiraf Mbazira.

Despite some improvement from Express FC, KCCA FC again lacked sharpness in front of the goal with Ivan Ahimbisibwe failing to utilize more than three chances, later he was switched for Emmanuel Anyama who also showed less threat.

With substitutions, Express FC got much balance in midfield with Cosea Kisa who came on for Khasim, and adjust the midfield 15 minutes later with Lawrence Bukenya.

After the match, Express FC players and technical team including Head Coach Badru Kaddu honored the return of fans to the stadium while KCCA FC coach Jackson Magera hailed the fans,

“It’s a different experience, honestly you can’t play football without fans, they motivate us, and they make football healthy.”

Besides the Express FC and KCCA FC clash, Bul FC handed a harsh welcome to Buhimba United Saints beating them 3-0 at Njeru Technical Center ending their League honeymoon of three consecutive wins.
