2025/26 Uganda Premier League | Wednesday April 8, 2026 | MD 22
- Express FC 3-1 Police FC
Express FC staged a dramatic late comeback to deny Police FC a league double with a 3-1 victory at Hamz Stadium on Wednesday.
Police took the lead in the 31st minute through a thunderbolt from Saidi Kyeyune, assisted by Charles Bbaale, putting them close to a league double they last achieved in 2017/18.
Abubakar Ssengooba was booked for a foul as midfield battles raged, but Express quickly responded.
Just three minutes later, Yosia Kisa equalized for Express, and the first half ended 1-1. In the second half, both sides attacked with intensity, but Express’ persistence paid off in stoppage time.
Kenneth Kimera scored twice in quick succession, completing the turnaround and earning Man of the Match honors.
The win lifts Express to 10th with 26 points, while Police remain 6th on 35 points, missing a chance to move up.
Next up, Express visits UPDF in Bombo on April 15, and Police face Mbarara City the following day.
Elsewhere, Maroons FC edged BUL FC 1-0 at Luzira Prison Grounds, thanks to an early strike from Ivan Mayanja.
Uganda Premier League action continues Thursday with UPDF Vs Mbarara City in Bombo at 4pm and NEC Vs Maroons in Lugogo at 8pm.
