- Maroons FC Vs BUL FC – 4 pm
Alex Isabirye is not hiding from the challenge ahead of BUL’s trip to Luzira. If anything, he is embracing it.
BUL return to action against Maroons FC knowing the Prisons Grounds has not been kind to them.
Their last win there came in 2018, when goals from Deogratius Ojok and Hamis Tibita secured a 2-1 result, with Herman Wasswa scoring for the hosts.
Since then, Luzira has remained a difficult stop.
“We have prepared for this game for almost three weeks and the lads are ready,” said Isabirye.
“It is always a tough place to visit and we haven’t won there in a long time but we want that to end.”
His confidence is backed by form. BUL FC are unbeaten in their last four league matches, winning three and drawing one, including their recent outing against Mbarara City.
They have also dominated this fixture in recent seasons, going seven games without defeat against Maroons and winning the reverse leg 1-0 in Njeru.
The two sides are close on the table. BUL sit eighth with 30 points, while Maroons are ninth, four points behind, a gap small enough to raise the stakes.
Maroons come into the match looking to recover after back to back losses to SC Villa in the league and Uganda Cup. A return to Luzira offers them a chance to respond.
Elsewhere on the evening, Express will host Police at the Hamz Stadium at 8 pm.
