2025/26 Uganda Premier League | MD 19 | Friday March 6,

  • KCCA FC 2-1 Police FC

Kampala Capital City Authority FC (KCCA) claimed revenge over Police FC on Friday, edging a 2-1 victory at Phillip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo after losing 2-0 to the same side earlier this year.

KCCA, in yellow shirts and blue shorts, started strongly. Early chances came from Joel Sserunjogi and Ivan Ahimbisibwe, while Police pressured with corners, only for Mugolofa to keep them out.

The breakthrough came in the 16th minute when Herbert Achai’s free kick effort hit the crossbar and was eventually awarded as a goal after a scramble.

Said Mayanja doubled the lead in the 30th minute with a crisp finish from Ahimbisibwe’s assist.

Police pulled one back through Lawrence Tezikya two minutes later, keeping the game alive.

KCCA’s Gavin Kizito was forced off with injury, replaced by Sammy Ssebaduka. In the second half, both teams made tactical substitutions.

A penalty appeal for Police in the 53rd minute was turned down, and KCCA held on despite late pressure.

Brian Jjara was named Man of the Match for his midfield dominance, helping KCCA secure three vital points.

The win lifts KCCA to third place with 39 points, one behind Kitara FC and two behind leaders Vipers SC. Police remain sixth on 32 points.

Next up, Police host SC Villa on March 10, while KCCA face Express FC on March 11. League action continues on Saturday with Entebbe UPPC Vs URA, Maroons Vs Buhimba United Saints, Mbarara City Vs Vipers, and SC Villa Vs Express FC.
