- Entebbe UPPC 0-1 Buhimba United Saints
- Kitara 1-1 KCCA
- BUL 0-0 URA
- Lugazi 3-1 Calvary
- Police 1-1 Mbarara City
The 2025/26 Uganda Premier League opened Friday with action across four venues, highlighted by KCCA’s late fightback to earn a 1–1 draw away to Kitara at Royals Park, Butema.
Kitara struck inside five minutes when Emmanuel Wasswa nodded home after KCCA failed to clear an aerial ball.
The visitors pushed back Herbert Achayi’s free kick whistled wide and Sammy Ssebaduka’s close-range shot was saved but finally leveled in the 80th minute.
Sharifu Ssengendo coolly finished with his left foot, silencing the sparse home crowd and earning coach Brian Ssenyondo a point on his return to the club he once led to Uganda Cup glory.
KCCA next face SC Villa in the Kampala Derby on October 4 while Kitara visit champions Vipers the same day.
Buhimba edge Entebbe UPPC
In Bugonga, league debutants Buhimba United Saints shocked fellow newcomers Entebbe UPPC 1–0.
Veteran striker John Wesley Kisakye struck after 15 minutes and goalkeeper Jamil Kiyimba preserved the lead with late saves from Samuel Junior Kawawa and Noordin Bunjo despite Entebbe’s midfield dominance.
Lugazi rally past Calvary
At Najjembe, Lugazi FC overturned an early deficit to beat newly promoted Calvary FC 3–1. Simon Peter Odeke put the visitors ahead in the 11th minute but Paul Wasswa equalized eight minutes later.
Sharif Saaka gave Lugazi the lead before halftime, and debutant Ashiraf Mulindi sealed the win in the 79th minute.
Lugazi visit Entebbe UPPC next week, while Calvary travel to Buhimba Saints.
BUL and URA share spoils
In Njeru, BUL and URA settled for a cagey 0–0 draw. New signings Tom Ikara, Calvin Barni and Denis Ssewagudde featured for BUL while URA handed starts to Nelson Ssenkatuka and Ronald Otti.
Chances were rare. URA’s George Masembe forced a fine save from Ikara, and Ssenkatuka missed from close range.
BUL’s Martin Aprem and Karim Ndugwa also went close but couldn’t break the deadlock.
