- KCCA FC 1-0 Buhimba United Saints
Jingle bells are ringing early for KCCA FC. As the festive season approaches and the Africa Cup Of Nations break looms, the Kasasiro Boys are enjoying life at the top of the Uganda Premier League.
On Tuesday night at Phillip Omondi Stadium, KCCA ground out a hard fought 1–0 win over stubborn Buhimba United Saints to stretch their lead at the summit to five points.
It was a result built on resilience, coming despite the absence of nine first-team players.
Injuries, illness, suspension and national duty had left KCCA stretched, but the leaders still found a way.
Buhimba, under new coach Robert Mukasa “Kiyenje,” arrived organised and determined, showing signs of renewed belief despite their recent struggles.
KCCA controlled the early exchanges and were rewarded in the 27th minute. A loose ball fell kindly to Rogers Mugisha, who reacted quickest, controlled with his chest and finished calmly to ignite celebrations in Lugogo.

After the break, KCCA dictated the tempo, probing through Saidi Mayanja and threatening from set pieces, but could not add a second.
Buhimba had their moments, with Anwar Ntege testing goalkeeper Emojong, yet clear chances were few.

KCCA remained composed in the closing stages, managing the game well to secure three vital points.
Mugisha was delighted to mark his return with the winner.
“The coach challenged me because I’ve been injured,” he said.
“Starting today and helping the team win means a lot. I want to come back stronger after the break.”
Ssenyondo praised both his players and the opposition.
“Buhimba were very organised and made it difficult for us,” he said.
“But we created chances and handled the game well. That’s important.”
He also highlighted the strength of his squad.
“We are building a squad, not just a team. Players step in when needed, and Mugisha showed that tonight.”
The win takes them to 26 points, five clear of Police FC in second. Buhimba Saints stay 14th on 10 points.
Earlier on the evening, BUL’s slump deepened on Tuesday as Police FC claimed a convincing 3–1 win in an Uganda Premier League match at the FUFA Technical Centre.
