2025/26 Uganda Premier League | Tuesday January 13 | MD12

  • URA FC 0-1 Entebbe UPPC

Ambrose Kigozi made it count when it mattered most as Entebbe UPPC claimed a narrow 1–0 win over URA FC on Tuesday evening to wrap up Match-day 12, handing Hussein Mbalangu his first UPL match and defeat since taking charge of the Tax Collectors.

At Hamz Stadium, where chances were scarce and margins even thinner, Kigozi’s composed finish just after the hour proved decisive.

It was enough to secure UPPC’s seventh win of the season and show their steady rise.

URA started brightly but lacked discipline, picking up two early yellow cards inside ten minutes through Wamana Ibrahim and Bwangwani.

They saw plenty of the ball in the first half but struggled to turn possession into threat. Semuju went closest with a header that drifted off target, before injury forced Hudu Mulikyi off just before the break.

The second half followed a similar pattern. URA shuffled their pack, bringing on Tibita and Namanya, but UPPC struck with clarity.

John Kokas ignited the move, Muhammad Kyeyune pulled the ball back, and Kigozi arrived on cue to finish calmly.

URA had chances to respond. Moses Aliro headed wide, Nelson Ssenkatuka missed twice, once late on and again in stoppage time but UPPC held their shape and saw out the pressure.

Kigozi’s goal earned him Man of the Match and lifted Entebbe UPPC to fifth on 23 points. URA stay 12th on 11 points after a fifth loss of the campaign.

URA next host Vipers SC on January 23, while UPPC head to Bombo to face UPDF FC, full of confidence.
