2025/26 Uganda Premier League
- URA 0-1 Kitara
Kitara FC overcame an away double header with two wins, beating URA FC 1-0 for their first win at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, on Thursday, December 4, and Police FC 2-1 to bag all six points from Kampala-based clubs.
To complete the double, Patrick Kaddu scored a penalty in the second minute of the game following a foul on Ibrahim Wamannah on Edward Namasa Tala’s cross after receiving a low, started free kick by Jimmy Kalema.
The goal proved enough as URA FC faced a slow start in the game. Kitara FC had a goal called off when Kalema received the ball from Frank Tumwesigye Zaga in an offside position.
Kitara FC continued to look for an impression, but poor reaction from Isaac Amutuhaire, Kalema, and Kaddu prevented them from making an impact in finding a second goal.
After the hour mark, URA FC started to grow in the game. Nelson Ssenkatuka got a chance but failed to utilize it. The second chance arrived with Justin Opiro’s throw-in, but Medie Kibirige stepped up to claim the ball.
From there, URA FC failed to penetrate Kitara FC as they attempted to use long balls, which were easier to deal with for Benjamin Nyakoojo and Isa Lumu, who paired up in the visitors’ heart of defense.
In the second half, Kitara FC created no harm as URA FC, trying to force things, switched players, with the Kitara FC goalkeeper making reckless attempts in goal by moving off the line.
The game failed to leave the right impression but ended in a Kitara FC win, as they climb above Entebbe UPPC FC to get into the fifth position, with URA FC remaining in the 8th position, where they dropped to after Express FC’s win over Calvary.
URA FC will return to action against SC Villa at FUFA Stadium Kadiba on December 11 as they seek to bounce back, while Kitara will host Maroons on December 12 in Hoima.
Meanwhile, the league shall continue tomorrow with UPDF FC hosting Lugazi FC at Bombo Barracks ground as NEC FC hosts Vipers at Omondi Stadium Lugogo.
