2025/26 Uganda Premier League | MD 18 | Wednesday March 4,
- Express FC 1-1 Maroons FC
Express FC and Maroons FC shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in the Uganda Premier League at Hamz Stadium Nakivubo on Wednesday evening.
Despite the cold conditions, the match was lively from start to finish. Maroons nearly struck first when Norman Odipio’s long range effort crashed against the woodwork, a moment that set the tone for an open contest.
Express responded in the 19th minute through Kenneth Kimera, whose powerful shot from distance was well handled by Maroons goalkeeper Hassan Matovu.
The breakthrough came in the 75th minute. Jackson Nunda finished off a strong attacking move to give Maroons the lead and put the hosts under pressure.
But Express replied quickly. Seven minutes later, Kimera found the equaliser with a calm finish after being picked out by Marvin Nyanzi.
Neither side could find a winner. The result leaves Express 10th on 19 points, while Maroons are ninth with the same tally after 18 matches.
