Lugazi FC earned a hard-fought point against KCCA FC in a goalless draw at Phillip-Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, on Thursday evening.
The match carried extra weight after fans decided to boycott KCCA’s games, demanding their voices be heard over dissatisfaction with the new Uganda Premier League format.
Despite the off-field distractions, KCCA’s workers, were reportedly treated to their workers to a free game by club officials in-order to fill the gaps, came determined to help the club maintain their top-table position.

From the first whistle, Lugazi FC showed discipline and composure at the back, frustrating the league leaders at every turn.
Former KCCA shot stopper and Lugazi goalkeeper Juma Mutebi was the standout, making crucial saves to deny Sammy Ssebaduka twice in the first half and keeping a clean sheet to earn the man of the match award.
KCCA dominated possession and launched several attacks, but the resilient Lugazi defense held firm, leaving the hosts unable to break the deadlock.

The draw lifts Lugazi FC to fourth on the league table, while KCCA move to second, five points behind leaders Buhimba United Saints.
