2025/26 Uganda Premier League | Tuesday January 6 | MD 12
- Police FC 2-0 KCCA FC
- Buhimba United Saints 1-0 Maroons
Brian James Obedi and Bedia Djuma Ikamba struck in a decisive second-half spell as Police FC defeated KCCA 2–0 at the Police Arena on Tuesday, handing the league leaders only their second loss of the season as the Uganda Premier League returned from its AFCON break.
The league had been on pause to allow the Uganda Cranes’ participation at AFCON 2025, but following the national team’s early exit, domestic action resumed with matchday twelve fixtures.
One of the standout contests pitted an in-form Police side against the Kasasiro Boys, who arrived at Kira Road sitting top of the table.
Under head coach Matia Lule, Police have been one of the season’s most consistent teams and their confidence and organisation were evident from the opening exchanges.
The first half was tightly contested, with both sides cautious and disciplined, cancelling each other out in midfield and creating few clear chances.
The game, however, came alive after the break. Six minutes into the second half, Obedi broke the deadlock with a moment of quality.
After Denis Kalanzi headed the ball into his path, the midfielder unleashed a fierce long-range effort that flew past the KCCA goalkeeper to give the hosts the lead.
KCCA attempted to respond, but Police remained composed and continued to threaten on the counter.
Their control of the game was rewarded again two minutes after the hour mark when Congolese forward Bedia Djuma Ikamba doubled the advantage, finishing calmly to put daylight between the two sides.
The Kasasiro Boys mounted a late surge in search of a way back into the contest. Yet, Police’s defensive resolve held firm to secure a memorable victory on the league’s return.
The win lifts Police FC to second place on 24 points level with Vipers SC who face Mbarara City later.
Despite the defeat, KCCA remain top of the standings on 26 points, though their unbeaten aura has taken another dent as the title race gathers momentum.
At the Royal Park in Butema, Derick Byabacwezi scored the only goal as Buhimba United Saints edged Maroons after an eight-game winless run.

The victory takes Buhimba to 13 points, two points behind Maroons, who stay on 15.
