2025/26 Uganda Premier League | MD 16 | Friday February 13,

  • UPDF FC 0-0 Buhimba United Saints

Emmanuel Ochen rose to the occasion on a tense evening at Bombo Barracks as UPDF and Buhimba United Saints settled for a goalless draw in the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League on Friday.

With both sides fighting to stay afloat, the match was more about grit than flair. Chances were rare, tackles were firm, and every loose ball mattered. Ochen’s calm and disciplined display earned him the Man of the Match award in a contest defined by tension.

The stalemate mirrored the reality on the table. UPDF started the day 15th with 12 points from 16 matches, while Buhimba sat 13th with 14 points. For both teams, survival is now the clear objective.

UPDF had the better openings, urged on by their home fans. Their biggest opportunity came from the penalty spot, but captain Bernard Muwanga failed to convert, missing a golden chance to hand the hosts a vital lead.

Action between UPDF FC and Buhimba United Saints share.

Buhimba were far from passive. They pressed in spells and matched UPDF in a tight midfield battle. When pressure mounted, Ochen’s composure steadied his side and ensured they held firm.

In the end, neither team found the breakthrough. The point may not transform their positions, but in a relegation fight, avoiding defeat can be just as important as chasing victory.

Elsewhere on Match Day 16, BUL held leaders Vipers to a 1-1 draw, highlighting the league’s growing competitiveness.
