UPL: Otim salvages point for SC Villa to avoid defeat to Entebbe UPPC

Andrew Otim helps SC Villa avoid a back to back loss from the start of the 2025-2026 season. 

In their first game of the season, SC Villa was defeated 2-1 by their rival KCCA FC.

Otim scored in the 83rd minute with a header from a corner kick started by Najib Yiga at FUFA Stadium Kadiba. Visitors UPPC led the game for 47 minutes.

Fazil Tumwine scored in the 28th minute, with his goal coming in the second consecutive match of the league after netting a winner over Lugazi FC on match day two of the league.

The game settled Entebbe UPPC in the fifth position with 4 points from three games, while SC Villa, in two games, have collected a point, sitting 14th on a log of 16 teams sitting in the bottom half of the new League Format.

A draw against new entrants Entebbe UPPC FC was the first SC Villa home game ever since they switched home ground from Muteesa II Wankulukuku stadium for FUFA Stadium Kadiba.

Commencing with match day three, tomorrow, October 16, KCCA FC shall host Lugazi FC at Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, at 8 pm, while earlier in the day, the Kitara Derby will occur as Buhimba hosts Kitara FC at Royal Park, Butema, which is also the home of Kitara FC.
