Under the stewardship of Matia Lule, Uganda Police FC continues to shine with a well deserved 2-0 win over Entebbe UPPC FC to go on top of the Uganda Premier League.
In the game that took place at Entebbe Fisheries in Bugonga on Wednesday, November 19, Lawrence Tezikya scored Police FC’s opener in the 32nd minute of the game.
Following unsuccessful trials for the home side, AbdulShakur Jemba sealed the win in the 83rd minute, taking Police FC to 14 points from 7 games.
The tally guided them to the top spot of the league, passing KCCA FC on 11 points. Sitting on the top, Police FC will stay there up to Friday, November 21, as they wait for KCCA FC’s result against URA FC at Omondi Stadium Lugogo.
Police FC have won four games, drawn twice, and only lost to SC Villa 2-1. With that form, they have already played KCCA FC to a 1-1 draw, beaten Express FC, and additionally defeated Maroons FC and UPDF FC, while the other draw came against NEC FC 2-2.
While scoring 11 goals, Police FC have conceded 7 times as they await their return to action on Thursday, November 27, when they will host Kitara FC at Kira Road Police ground. They will either still be in the lead or in second position.
Meanwhile, in the other league played on Wednesday, with Emmanuel Ochen’s goal UPDF FC on the road beat Calvary FC Midigo.
The league will continue tomorrow Thursday November 20 with three more Matchday seven fixtures, SC Villa will host NEC FC at FUFA Stadium Kadiba, Lugazi FC will take on Express FC, and Kitara FC will be hosting Bul FC.
