Uganda Premier League
- Vipers Vs Maroons – St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende | 8pm
Maroons head coach Umar Abdallah Loi believes the international break came at the perfect moment, giving his side the chance to “reset, refresh, and refocus” before facing champions Vipers SC under the lights at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Saturday.

Vipers return to league duty unbeaten, with two wins from two, and eager to maintain their flawless start as they begin a congested run of fixtures after missing three games due to continental engagements. Form, history, and home advantage all point their way.
Maroons, on the other hand, have struggled, one win in five and hovering just above the relegation zone. But Abdallah says the break allowed his team to breathe and rebuild.
“We used the international break perfectly to reorganize the squad without any match pressure,” he told the media.
“The boys are fresh, focused, and carrying positive energy into tomorrow’s game.”
His confidence is rooted in preparation, not precedent. Vipers are unbeaten in their last 14 league meetings with Maroons, winning nine and drawing five.

Last season’s fixture at Kitende was decided by a clever indirect free kick from Moses Waiswa, a reminder of how tight games can be there.
Still, Abdallah believes his re-energized squad can walk onto the Kitende turf and show the work they’ve put in.
