2025/26 Uganda Premier League | Friday December 12
- KCCA FC Vs NEC FC – 8 pm
- Kitara FC Vs Maroons FC – Royal Park, Butema – 4 pm
Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) could stretch their lead at the top of the Uganda Premier League to three points if they beat Lugogo rivals NEC under the lights at Phillip Omondi Stadium on Friday.
Brian Ssenyondo and Jackson Magera’s side arrive brimming with confidence, having won their last three matches, including a 2-1 victory over BUL. But KCCA will be without key duo Ivan Ahimbisibwe and Shafik Nana Kwikiriza, both away with the Uganda Cranes ahead of AFCON 2025. League top scorer Emmanuel Anyama and Derrick Nsibambi are expected to lead the attack in their absence.
NEC, meanwhile, will draw on familiarity. Their squad features former KCCA stars Mustafa Kizza, Benjamin Ochan, Muzamir Mutyaba, and Paul Mucureezi.
Guided by ex-KCCA coach Badru Kaddu, NEC will be eager to cause an upset. History favours them too, they have three wins and one defeat in their last four league encounters with KCCA.
Their recent form has been solid, holding defending champions Vipers to a 1-1 draw last time out.
Expect a tense, closely contested match as NEC look to exploit their knowledge of KCCA’s style, while the hosts aim to maintain momentum and reclaim a comfortable gap at the summit.
Elsewhere on Friday, Kitara host Maroons at Royal Park, Butema, in a 4pm kick-off.
Kitara, winners of four of their last five matches, will be keen to keep their run going.
