  • Maroons Vs Calvary – Luzira | 4pm

The Uganda Premier League returns to the Prisons Ground in Luzira this Wednesday, October 22, as Maroons FC host newcomers Calvary FC in a Match Day 4 clash.

It will be Maroons’ first home game of the season and their first-ever meeting with Calvary, a fixture that promises both excitement and pressure.

Maroons sit 8th on the table with three points from two matches, having beaten UPDF 2–1 before falling 1–0 to BUL FC.

Head coach Abdallah Umar Loi is eager to deliver a home win, saying, “I owe this to the fans. We need to set our home record straight.”

Calvary, on the other hand, are still searching for their first top-flight point after losing 3–1 to Lugazi and 2–0 to Buhimba United Saints.

Their defense has looked shaky, conceding five goals in two games, and now faces another stern test against Maroons’ attack.

Striker Dickson Niwamanya will be one to watch for the hosts.

Despite limited minutes this season, he already has a goal in just 67 minutes of play, combining energy with a sharp eye for goal.

Supported by Emmanuel Obua, Rogers Kiwanuka, and Ivan Mayanja, Niwamanya could prove a handful for Calvary’s backline.

For the visitors, defensive discipline will be crucial. Their hopes of an upset depend on containing Maroons’ frontline and capitalizing on the few chances they create.

Maroons will be without Ivan Asaba and Ronald Ssempala through injury, but the rest of the squad is fit. Calvary report no new injury concerns.

A win could lift Maroons into the top half of the table, while Calvary are desperate to avoid a third straight defeat that could deepen their early-season struggles.
