2025/26 Uganda Premier League | Tuesday, December 9

  • Calvary Vs Vipers | 4 p.m | Midigo Primary School Play Ground

Vipers head to the far flung town of Yumbe on Tuesday knowing they’ll be without some of their biggest names.

The champions visit league debutants Calvary FC at Midigo Primary School Play Ground in a rescheduled fixture, but the big story is who won’t play.

Allan Okello, Rogers Torach and Hilary Mukundane are away with the Uganda Cranes in Morocco for AFCON 2025 preparations.

Their absence removes quality and experience from midfield and defence at a time when the title race is tightening.

Vipers could have postponed the game, but chose to play. It speaks to their confidence and their desire to stay close to the top.

They’re even ready to face Lugazi next under the same circumstances as trio remain with the national team.

The Venoms travel north after a frustrating 1–1 draw at NEC. Those dropped points kept them from going top, but the target is simple, win in Yumbe and they move above leaders KCCA thanks to a better head to head record.

Without Okello, the creative burden now falls on Karim Watambala, Yunus Sentamu, Usama Arafat and captain Milton Karisa.

The defence also rearranges, with Grant Masiko, Paul Mbowa, Livingstone Mulondo, Nicholas Wadada and Ashraf Mandela expected to step in.

Calvary, meanwhile, are battling to survive and to belong. They sit bottom with just one point from eight matches and are still searching for their first win of the season. Their fight is survival while Vipers’ chase is for top spot.

The long trip, missing stars and contrasting pressures give this fixture a sharp edge.

On Vipers’ side, it will be test of depth while Calvary, a chance to shock a giant and finally announce themselves.
