  • Vipers Vs SC Villa – 8 p.m

Vipers midfielder Allan Okello has backed his side to stretch their perfect start to the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League when they host in form SC Villa under the floodlights at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Saturday.

The duel is the biggest test of the season so far. Vipers have won all four of their games, while Villa, second on the table with three matches more, arrive on a five game winning streak after recovering from early setbacks against KCCA and Entebbe UPPC.

But Okello believes Vipers have the edge.

“We don’t need anything special. A winning mentality is in this team’s DNA,” he said.

Across the divide, Villa forward and former Vipers youngster Najib Yiga expects a fierce contest but says the Jogoos are ready to keep their momentum;

“We want to stay consistent,” Yiga said.

“They are a good side, but so are we. There’s no pressure because the coach gives us freedom to play.”

Yiga added that Villa travel to Kitende with conviction,

“We are physically, mentally and emotionally prepared. We believe we can get a positive result.”
