  • Kitara vs Express – Royal Park Butema – 4pm
  • SC Villa vs Mbarara City – FUFA Kadiba stadium 8pm

SC Villa return home on Wednesday determined to bounce back after their 2–1 loss to BUL. The 17-time champions host Mbarara City at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba, knowing anything short of a win would dent their push near the top.

Villa start as clear favourites against an Ankole Lions side struggling for form and stability.

Mbarara City were held by Lugazi last time out in a match overshadowed by disciplinary issues that saw Henry Kitegenyi, Ibrahim Thembo and Fahad Emuran suspended.

The trio remain sidelined, leaving an already low-confidence squad stretched thin.

Villa, on the other hand, could welcome back Misi Diego Ssemugera after he missed the BUL defeat.

Ibrahim Kasinde is also pushing to reclaim his place after Patrick Kakande filled in, while Hassan Mubiru, Frank Ssebuufu and Aslam Ssemakula remain central to Villa’s plans.

Recent history favours the Jogoos. They have won eight of the last 13 meetings with Mbarara City and taken four victories from the last five.

With Mbarara rooted in the bottom two on 11 points, only ahead of Calvary, the challenge facing the visitors is steep.

At Royal Park Butema, Kitara will be aiming to extend their dominance at home when they host Express under the floodlights.

The Royals are chasing a sixth straight home win and are unbeaten in six matches at Butema, five of them victories.

Express arrive with troubling away form. The Red Eagles are winless in eight league games on the road and sit 10th on 15 points, still uncomfortably close to the relegation zone.

The fixture carries extra spice for Kitara head coach Wasswa Bbosa, a former league winner with Express most especially with an urge after that 3-3 draw away at NEC FC.

Several players, including John Byamukama, Emmanuel Wasswa, Isa Lumu, Murushid Jjuuko, Frank Tumwesigye and George Ssenkaaba, will also face former teammates.

Kitara are sixth on 23 points after an entertaining 3–3 draw with NEC at Lugogo, and another home win would keep them firmly in the race.
