2025/26 Uganda Premier League | MD 16 | Fixtures | Tuesday February 17,

  • Vipers SC Vs NEC FC – 8 pm
  • Entebbe UPPC Vs Mbarara City FC – 4 pm
  • Buhimba United Saints Vs Police FC – 4 pm

League leaders Vipers SC return to St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Tuesday determined to hold on to top spot in the Uganda Premier League.

The Venoms host an in form NEC FC side in a match that could shape both the title race and the push for a top finish.

The first meeting ended 1-1 at Lugogo, but both teams have grown since then. NEC arrive unbeaten in seven matches across all competitions, highlighted by a 3-1 win over KCCA FC.

Vipers, however, remain unbeaten on the pitch this season despite forfeiting three points to Kitara FC off it.

A recent draw with BUL FC cut their lead at the top to two points, leaving little margin for error.

The contest also brings familiar faces back to Kitende. Former Vipers players Ibrahim Kiyemba, Richard Basangwa, Joseph Dhata, Paul Mucureezi and Siraje Sentamu are set to face their old side.

For Vipers, creativity will be key. Karim Watambala, Milton Karisa and Usama Arafat must break down an NEC defence that has kept four clean sheets in its last six league games.

Elsewhere, the race for a top-three finish tightens. Entebbe UPPC, Police FC and record champions SC Villa are level on 31 points, six behind Vipers. With slim title hopes still alive, none can afford to slip.

Entebbe UPPC host Mbarara City FC after a goalless draw with Express FC. They will rely on their defensive strength against a Mbarara side buoyed by a 1-0 win over Calvary FC. The reverse fixture ended 1-1.

At Royal Park, Butema, Police face Buhimba United Saints, who are battling to stay above the relegation zone.

Buhimba sit just above the drop, one point behind Mbarara City on 15 points and only three clear of UPDF FC, who occupy the relegation places.
