  • NEC vs Entebbe UPPC – Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo | 8pm

National Enterprise Corporation Football Club host Entebbe Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation Football Club under the floodlights at Lugogo Stadium on Tuesday in the Corporations Derby.

NEC head into the match in strong form after back to back victories. The Diehards edged UPDF FC 1-0 before beating Lugazi FC 2-0 away in Najjembe.

Those results have stretched NEC’s unbeaten run to nine league games. Since losing to KCCA FC on December 12, they have won five and drawn four to climb to seventh with 30 points.

Coach Badru Kaddu is confident his side can keep the run going.

“The preparations are good and we have players like Richard Basangwa, Pius Obuya and Muhammad Ssenoga back from injury,” Kaddu said.

NEC will rely on attackers Samuel Ssekamatte, Innocent Media and Richard Basangwa to trouble the visitors.

UPPC, however, hold the advantage from the first meeting this season. At Bugonga, Samuel Jr Kawawa scored the only goal in their 1-0 victory.

But the Printers have struggled in recent matches. Abdallah Mubiru’s side drew 0-0 with Express FC, beat Mbarara City FC 1-0, lost 2-0 to Kitara FC and drew 0-0 with URA FC. They have not scored in their last two games.

UPPC are fifth with 35 points and still chasing the top positions. Much will depend on striker Ambrose Kigozi, who has nine goals this season, alongside KCCA’s Ivan Ahimbisibwe. The visitors could also hand debuts to Abraham Tusubira and Laban Tibita.

With NEC unbeaten in nine games and UPPC eager to return to winning ways, Tuesday’s clash promises a tight contest.

Elsewhere, SC Villa visit Police FC, BUL FC face Buhimba United Saints FC in Hoima, Mbarara City FC host Kitara FC in the Western Derby, while Calvary FC play Maroons FC in Midigo.
