2025/26 Uganda Premier League | Tuesday November 25,| 4 pm

  • UPDF Vs SC Villa – Bombo Military Barracks
  • NEC Vs Calvary – 7 pm | Phillip Omondi Stadium
  • Maroons Vs Lugazi – Luzira Prison Grounds

SC Villa head to Bombo on Tuesday knowing a win over UPDF could finally lift them to the top of the Uganda Premier League.

The Jogoos arrive in ruthless form, four straight victories and unbeaten since the opening day loss to KCCA.

But Bombo carries its own ghosts. Villa lost there last season, a slip that still lingers.

This time, coach Zeljko Kovacevic wants maturity and precision to avoid a repeat.

Right back Frank Mulimi says the team understands the task ahead.

“The coaches have prepared us well and we know what to expect,” he said. “It’s a difficult place, but we believe we can go there and get what we want.”

Villa will rely on the firing trio of Frank Ssebuufu, Hassan Mubiru and Ibrahim Kasinde, with Barasa Mangoli, captain David Owori and Geofrey Lubangakene anchoring the backline.

They sit third on 13 points, one behind leaders KCCA and Police, who have both played a game more.

UPDF, 13th with six points, are fighting to stay above the relegation line. Their spirits rose after edging Calvary last week, and they will lean on former Villa captain Bernard Muwanga, Aggrey Kirya and goalkeeper Abdul Kimera.

History favours Villa with eight wins in 16 league meetings. But at Bombo, the hosts have matched them evenly, three wins apiece in eight encounters.

At Lugogo, NEC host bottom placed Calvary as Badru Kaddu searches for his first win since taking charge.

NEC have managed only one victory in six games, while Calvary have collected a single point all season.

Kaddu remains upbeat.

“The players are willing to learn,” he said.

“Now we must start winning. Our aim is to end the first round on 33 points.”

NEC sit 12th on six points, five ahead of Calvary. With the visitors coming off home losses to Entebbe UPPC and UPDF, NEC enter the match as favourites.

In Luzira, Lugazi visit Maroons hoping to finally shake off their travel curse. Co-coach Steven Bogere knows the challenge ahead.

“They’re an experienced side and they beat us last season,” he said.

“We must be careful but ready to compete.”

Lugazi will be without Mwanje and Alfred Leku but remain confident in their attacking options.

They have nine points from seven matches, yet haven’t won away in eight league outings since March.

Maroons, on five points from six games, have stumbled through a slow start. Still, at home in the tight Luzira setting, they remain a tricky and stubborn opponent.
