Uganda Premier League
- URA 1-1 Express
Nelson Senkatuka finally got off the mark for URA FC on Friday night, scoring a classy first-half goal in a 1–1 draw with Express FC at Hamz Stadium.
The striker, who joined the Tax Collectors in August, had endured a slow start, most notably missing a penalty in the FUFA Super 8 classification game against BUL FC.
But he silenced his critics with a superb finish in the 17th minute after a clever pass from Norman Namanya. Senkatuka nearly made it two shortly after when he broke free but sent his effort inches wide with only goalkeeper Ali Mwirusi to beat.
That miss proved costly as Express equalized midway through the second half. Substitute Kagawa Ssenoga, introduced at halftime for Mikidadi Ssenyonga, leveled the score in the 62nd minute, slotting home from Richard Basangwa’s setup.
The Red Eagles almost went ahead moments later, but URA keeper Chrispus Kusiima denied Ssenoga in a one-on-one duel.
Joshua Lubwama made a vital block late on to preserve the point, while new signing Living Kabon made his second debut for URA, replacing Namanya in the 77th minute.
Despite late pressure from both sides, the game ended level. URA remain winless after three matches, all draws while Express move up to seventh with four points.
