2025/26 Uganda Premier League | MD 14 | Tuesday January 27

  • KCCA FC 4-0 UPDF FC

Sammy Ssebaduka was at his brilliant best on Tuesday evening, firing KCCA FC back to winning ways with a convincing 4–0 victory over UPDF FC at the Phillip-Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

After a rough run that included a loss to Police and a draw with Maroons, the Kasasiro Boys needed a response. They delivered it with purpose, pace and plenty of goals.

KCCA set the tone early. In the 11th minute, Herbert Achayi’s inviting cross found Ssebaduka, who finished calmly to open the scoring. It was the lift the home crowd and the team needed.

The pressure never eased. Shafik Nana Kwikiriza was lively in midfield and won a penalty midway through the first half after being fouled by Edward Saturo. Joel Sserunjogi made no mistake from the spot to double the lead.

UPDF struggled to find their footing. Leaving top scorer Sam Ssekamatte on the bench raised eyebrows, and an early injury to goalkeeper Shamulan Kamya only added to their troubles. His replacement, Abdul Kimera, could do little to stop the flow.

Any slim hopes of a comeback vanished six minutes after the break when Ssebaduka struck again, finishing neatly to make it 3–0 and seal a Man of the Match performance.

With the result beyond doubt, coach Brian Ssenyondo turned to his bench. The changes paid off when Alpha Ssali marked his KCCA debut goal in stoppage time, rounding off a dominant afternoon.

Alpha Ssali celebrates his goal.

The win moves KCCA up to second place on 29 points, just one behind leaders Vipers SC. UPDF remain in trouble, second from bottom on 11 points and now five games without a win.

KCCA next host Entebbe UPPC FC on January 30, while UPDF return to Bombo to face BUL FC, searching for answers.

Elsewhere, Entebbe UPPC and Maroons drew 0-0 in Bugonga, Calvary and URA played out a goalless stalemate in Midigo, Lugazi edged BUL 2-1 in Najjembe, and NEC FC claimed a narrow 1-0 win over Buhimba United Saints away at Royal Park.

Later on, at the St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende, Vipers SC will host Police FC in a top of the table clash at 8 pm.
