KCCA pulled off a dramatic late comeback to beat BUL 2–1 in Jinja on Sunday evening, keeping their Uganda Premier League title push alive and briefly taking top spot.

BUL thought they were on course for a big home win when George Kasonko struck in the 37th minute, punishing a sluggish KCCA start at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

The Eastern Giants held their lead to halftime, defending tightly and threatening on the counter.

KCCA returned sharper after the break, and the game shifted just before the hour. Sammy Ssebaduka levelled in the 58th minute with a calm finish, giving the visitors renewed belief. From then, KCCA controlled the ball and pushed BUL back.

Nicholas Mwere clearing the ball alongside KCCA’s Derrick Nsibambi.

With the match heading for a draw, manager Sergio Daniel made a bold late change, taking off Ssebaduka for Alex Yiga.

The substitute made an instant impact, finding space in the 90th minute and burying the winner to stun the home crowd and spark wild KCCA celebrations.

The result, powered by Ssebaduka’s equaliser and Yiga’s late heroics, moved KCCA to 20 points from eight games.

They sit three clear of Vipers SC, SC Villa and Police, though Vipers still have two matches to play.

BUL remain 11th with only two wins in nine games, and the pressure continues to mount as their inconsistent run drags on.
