  • Express FC 3-1 Buhimba United Saints

Express FC turned in a calm and assured display to earn a deserved 3–1 win over Buhimba United Saints in an Uganda Premier League match at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo on Saturday.

The Red Eagles started brightly, taking control early and keeping Buhimba pinned back.

While their build-up play was sharp, clear chances were slow to come as the final ball often went astray.

The breakthrough arrived in the 21st minute when Mikidadi Ssenyonga muscled his way through before firing past the goalkeeper to give Express a deserved lead.

Buhimba United responded quickly. Four minutes later, Edson Agondeze rose highest to head in Solomon Akodi’s corner, restoring parity and briefly halting Express’ momentum.

The hosts wasted little time in regaining control. John Asiimwe made it 2–1 in the 27th minute, finishing a neat move with a well-struck half-volley after good work from Ssenyonga.

Express remained on the front foot after the break, looking to settle the contest. Hakim Wandera nearly extended the lead with a well-hit free kick, but goalkeeper Jamil Kiyimba kept Buhimba in the game with a sharp save.

Any chance of a comeback ended when Henry Wamala scored Express’ third, capping a polished team performance and sealing all three points.

The win moves Express up to 10th on the table with 15 points, while Buhimba United Saints stay 11th on 13 points.

Elsewhere, NEC and Kitara played out a 3–3 draw in Lugogo, while Mbarara City and Lugazi FC shared a goalless draw at Rwamwanja.
