  • UPDF FC 1-1 Kitara FC

UPDF FC held Kitara FC to a 1-1 draw on Friday at the Military Barracks Stadium in Bombo, denying the visitors a chance to move to the top of the Uganda Premier League table.

The game remained cagey for long spells, with both sides struggling to create clear chances in a goalless first half.

The match only came alive in the final twenty minutes. Mid-season signing Ivan Bogere broke the deadlock in the 71st minute to give Kitara the lead and put them on course for a crucial away win.

But the hosts fought back. With ten minutes left, Muhammad Shaban was fouled inside the penalty area, earning UPDF a spot kick. Living Kabon calmly converted to level the score and earn the army side a valuable point.

The draw moves Kitara to 40 points from 19 matches, leaving them one point behind leaders Vipers SC.

UPDF, meanwhile, registered their fourth draw of the season and now have 13 points from 19 matches.

Elsewhere, BUL FC thrashed Calvary FC 5-1. Isaac Wagoina scored a hat-trick while Jeromy Kirya and Karim Ndugwa added a goal each. Emmanuel Ojok scored Calvary’s consolation as they remain bottom with five points.
