UPDF return to Bombo Military Grounds on Thursday with one clear aim, to keep their survival hopes alive when they host Mbarara City.
It is a clash between two sides fighting to stay up. UPDF are stuck in the relegation zone with 14 points after 21 matches and have gone 12 games without a win.
They have managed just one victory in their last 15 outings, a result that came against Lugazi in December.
Mbarara City are not safe either. They sit only two points above UPDF and come into this game with just one win in their last 10 matches, losing six and drawing three.
Despite their poor run, UPDF have often had the upper hand in this fixture. They are unbeaten in the last nine league meetings with Mbarara City, winning seven, drawing two and losing once.
They also took the first round meeting this season, winning 1-0 through Samuel Ssekamatte who now features for a more secure NEC FC.
But form matters more than history now. Both teams are low on confidence and points are all that matter.
