  • Entebbe UPPC 2-0 Express FC

Entebbe UPPC claimed a solid 2–0 victory over Express on Thursday evening at the Bugonga Fisheries playground, delivering a calm, controlled performance that lifted them to fifth place in the Uganda Premier League.

The Printers started brightly. Ambrose Kigozi should have opened the scoring in the seventh minute when he found himself unmarked, but his free header flew wide.

Express nearly hit back soon after, with Richard Basangwa curling an effort just past the post in the 15th minute.

UPPC kept pushing, and Steven Munguchi almost broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute when his long range strike flashed across goal. Still, both sides went into the break level.

The hosts finally found their breakthrough in the 56th minute. A smooth team move sliced through the Express defence before Samuel Kawawa set up Noordin Bunjo, who calmly swept the ball home.

Express almost replied immediately, but John Asiimwe’s weak effort was easily collected by goalkeeper Rogers Omedwa.

UPPC sealed the win in the 73rd minute when Isa Bugembe delivered a perfect cross for Kigozi, who buried his header at the far post.

The victory lifts UPPC to 17 points from 10 games, while Express stay eighth on 12.
