  • URA FC 1-1 NEC FC

The Uganda Revenue Authority team has escaped the brutality of the National Enterprise  Cooperation football club as they start playing in the new league format of the Uganda Premier League, and player James Penzi Begesa has been rushed to hospital after colliding with NEC FC’s winger, James Jerieko.

James Begisa being taken to hospital.

In the match played at Nakivubo, URA FC came from behind to draw 1-1 with NEC FC. Moses Aliro scored the equalizer for URA FC, cancelling out Innocent Media’s goal.

Aliro’s goal came from a corner kick started by Laban Tibita. Aliro slipped past defenders Ibrahim Kiyemba and Jacob Okao and sent the ball into the net in the 50th minute.

NEC FC’s goal came in the 11th minute after a cross from Joseph Dhata that gave URA FC goalkeeper Charles Kusiima no chance to save it before finding Innocent Media at the far post to score.

The match has come in a position to confirm NEC FC have softened after initially protesting against the new league format, but after playing in the CAF Confederations Cup preliminary round where they were eliminated by Nairobi United, they ended up deciding to restart a new chapter in the Uganda Premier League.

Having missed their opening fixture against Maroons FC when they were featuring in the Confederations Cup, they have already rebelled and agreed to play in the new league format, to have their first match in the new scheme as they are having a game at hand.
