2025/26 Uganda Premier League
- Calvary FC 0-0 Vipers SC
Vipers’ title push hit another bump on Tuesday after they were held to a goalless draw by league newcomers Calvary FC at Midigo Playground in Yumbe, slipping further behind in the Uganda Premier League race.
Travelling without Allan Okello, Rogers Torach and Hillary Mukundane, currently with the Uganda Cranes, the champions lacked sharpness up front.
Their afternoon worsened when defender Abubakali Walusimbi limped off early, forcing Patrick Mbowa into action.
Even then, Vipers had chances. Isaac Ogwang turned down a clear shot and tried to set up Milton Karisa, only for the move to fade.
Moments later, Kevin DaSilva struck the crossbar after neat buildup from Karim Watambala.
Bottom-placed Calvary survived wave after wave and reached halftime relieved but still in the contest.
Vipers introduced Gusto Mulongo and Enock Ssebagala after the break, pushing harder, yet the breakthrough never came.
Yunus Sentamu’s late effort brushed the woodwork, another moment that summed up Vipers’ frustrations.
The point keeps Vipers second on 18, while Calvary celebrate just their second point of the season.
Vipers host BUL next on Saturday, December 13 at St Mary’s Stadium, a home test they can’t afford to mishandle.
UPL action will continue on Wednesday, 10 Dec 2025 with the following games – 4 p.m
- Buhimba United Saints FC Vs UPDF FC – Royals Park – Butema, Hoima City
- Lugazi FC vs Police FC – Lugazi FC Stadium, Najjembe
