  • Vipers SC 0-0 Kitara FC

Vipers SC and Kitara FC shared the spoils in a tense, hard-fought top of the table clash at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende under the floodlights.

In a game packed with emotion and intensity, both sides left with a point after a contest well managed by referee Ashadu Ssemeere.

From the start, the message was clear, fight for every ball, every space, every moment. Neither side gave an inch in a match played at high tempo and high stakes.

Chances were few and came in half measures, but the energy never dropped. The referee had to step in at key moments to calm rising emotions as both teams pushed limits in search of control.

Backed by thousands of fans, Vipers started the brighter side, took charge in spells, then slowed before finishing strongly. Kitara, however, stayed compact and resilient, matching the hosts blow for blow.

As the match wore on, Vipers looked more likely to break through, but Kitara held firm to secure a valuable point on the road.

The draw takes Vipers to 51 points after 22 matches, while Kitara move to 47 as the title race tightens heading into the final stretch of the season.

Vipers’ holding midfielder Taddeo Lwanga was named man of the match for a commanding display in the middle of the park.

In their next games, KCCA FC will host Kitara FC on Friday, April 17, before then SC Villa will have faced Vipers SC on Wednesday, April 15 under the lights at Kadiba.

Action continues on Saturday April 10, with two bottom sides, Calvary taking on Buhimba United Saints at Midigo PS Grounds at 4pm, a match expected to build early momentum before attention shifts to Kadiba in the evening.

There, SC Villa and KCCA will meet at 8pm under the floodlights, renewing their long-standing rivalry in a highly anticipated Kampala derby.
