2025/26 Uganda Premier League | Saturday December 13
- Vipers SC 3-1 BUL
Vipers SC underlined their title ambitions with a composed second half performance, coming from a tight first half to beat BUL FC 3–1 at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Saturday night.
The opening 45 minutes were cagey. BUL, desperate to halt a three game losing run, stayed compact and disciplined, frustrating the hosts and earning a goalless draw at the break.
Vipers came closest through Livingstone Mulondo, but Tom Ikara reacted smartly to keep out his header.
There was also intrigue in the stands, where Simon Peter Mugerwa was spotted in the VIP section amid reports linking him with a move to Vipers as an assistant coach with current one, Fred Muhumuza away with the Uganda Cranes in Morocco on AFCON 2025 duty.
The match sprang to life after halftime. Two minutes in, Enock Ssebagala lit up Kitende with a superb long-range volley to give Vipers the lead.

Five minutes shy off the hour mark, BUL hit back almost immediately, Jerome Kirya curling in a fine free kick to level the scores and briefly silence the home crowd.
That proved short lived. A disputed handball decision handed Vipers a penalty midway through the half, and Karim Watambala calmly converted three minutes later.

However moments later, Usama Arafat two minutes past the hour mark, punished a defensive lapse, lifting the ball over Ikara to make it 3–1 and effectively end the contest.
Vipers closed out the game with confidence, rotating their squad as BUL ran out of answers.
The win moves Vipers up to second place on 21 points, two behind leaders KCCA after nine matches. BUL remain 12th on 10 points, with pressure continuing to mount.
Earlier in Yumbe, Calvary FC’s winless run stretched to ten matches after Ibrahim Dada’s opener was canceled out by a Stephen Oriokot own goal, allowing Mbarara City to snatch a draw.
