Uganda Premier League
- Vipers 1-0 KCCA
Vipers SC claimed all three points against KCCA FC in a momentous Uganda Premier League duel on Friday at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
The Venoms dominated from the start, controlling midfield and stifling KCCA’s attacks.
Enock Ssebagala, Marvin Joseph Youngman, and Karim Watambala impressed at the center, while Rogers Torach’s performance at right-back allowed Vipers to switch into a defensive back three when needed.
The breakthrough came in the 32nd minute. Allan Okello capitalized on a goalkeeper error following Yunus Sentamu’s cross to give Vipers the lead.
Despite KCCA co-coach Jackson Magera introducing Ashiraf Mugume to spark a response, the hosts held firm.
KCCA grew stronger in the second half, but Vipers’ defense stayed solid.
Goalkeeper Alfred Mudekereza had little to do as KCCA failed to find an equalizer.
The win gives Vipers back-to-back victories, moving them to tenth with six points. KCCA FC, still top with 11 points, suffered their first defeat of the season.
After the international break, KCCA hosts URA FC, while Vipers welcome Maroons to Kitende.
