Uganda Premier League defending champions Vipers SC will kick off their second round under floodlights this evening.

The Entebbe Road side currently in 3rd place will host struggling Jinja based Gaddafi FC at St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende at 7 PM.

On 30 points from 15 games, a win will see Vipers occupy second at the expense of Kitara FC who are just two points above them.

“Yes, we have a few players out due to injuries but we have prepared very well to have a good second-round start,’ Vipers Assistant Coach Baker Kasule noted.

For Gaddafi, any result but a defeat will be a good one as they are currently just a point above the danger zone on 16 points from as many games.

Away from the Kitende game to Luzira, today’s early kick-off will have Maroons FC welcome Wakiso Giants FC to Prisons Ground at 4 PM.

Maroons currently in 5th will climb to 3rd if they successfully imprison the purple sharks in a game expected to produce goals in plenty.

The visitors will be out to improve on their point-per-game ratio. A draw will see them maintain it at 17 points from as many games and a win or loss will change it for better or worse respectively.

Bul FC opens up 7 points gap at the top

In yesterday’s action in Njeru, visitors Bright Stars failed to defend Shafic Kakande‘s well-taken 42nd minute goal as they lost 2-1 to table leaders Bul FC.

Jeromy Kirya put up a man of the match performance

The hosts hit back on 54 minutes when defender Walter Ochora headed home Jeromy Kirya‘s free-kick at the far post to send the home ground into wild celebrations.

15 minutes later, the creator then turned the scorer through a powerful shot from some good distance which Bright Stars goalkeeper, Hassan Matovu, fumbled into his net.
