2025/26 Uganda Premier League | MD 18 | Wednesday March 4,
- URA FC 2-0 Mbarara City FC
Moses Waiswa marked his first goal for URA FC as the Tax Collectors beat Mbarara City FC 2-0 to end a nine game winless run in the Uganda Premier League on Wednesday at Hamz Stadium Nakivubo.
It was a long awaited win for URA, who had endured five defeats and four draws in their previous matches.
On a night disrupted by heavy rain and a waterlogged pitch, they showed urgency and discipline to secure all three points.
Derrick Kakooza had the first real chance in the 20th minute, but his effort was easily handled by Mbarara City goalkeeper Derrick Emukule.
At the other end, Hudu Mulikyi nearly turned the ball into his own net, only for URA’s Crispus Kusiima to react quickly and prevent the mistake.
URA broke through in the 35th minute. Dissan Galiwango delivered a precise ball into the area and Ronald Otti finished calmly to give the hosts the lead.

Seven minutes later, Emukule fouled Fred Amaku in the box and the referee pointed to the spot.
Waiswa stepped up and confidently sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to double URA’s advantage and register his debut goal for the club.
Ten minutes into the second half, the referee temporarily halted the match as heavy rain left the pitch unplayable.
After a short break, the teams returned to complete the game in front of a small crowd.
Mbarara City pushed late on and nearly pulled one back in the 85th minute, but Otti cleared the danger to seal the win.
The victory lifts URA to 12th place with 18 points, while Mbarara City remain 14th with 15 points from 18 matches.
