  • URA FC 0-3 Vipers SC

Karim Watambala stayed red-hot as Vipers SC surged back to the top of the Uganda Premier League with a convincing 3–0 win over URA FC at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, on Saturday, wrapping up Matchday 13.

The Venoms were ruthless from the first whistle, pinning URA back and taking control early in a one-sided display that underlined their title ambitions.

Watambala struck inside the opening minute, reacting quickest to a loose ball in the box and smashing home to stun the home crowd and give Vipers the ideal start.

URA never really settled. Vipers kept the pressure on and nearly doubled their lead in the 19th minute when Usama Arafat’s curling effort crashed against the woodwork.

The breakthrough soon followed. Gusto Mulongo made it 2–0 with a tidy finish after a well-timed pass from Usama, leaving URA chasing the game.

Three minutes later, Watambala struck again, calmly bending his shot into the bottom corner to seal his brace and effectively end the contest before the quarter-hour mark.

From there, Vipers controlled proceedings with ease, closing out a comfortable away victory.

The result sends Vipers top of the table on 30 points, strengthening their push for a third straight league title. URA remain in trouble, sitting 15th on 11 points after another disappointing outing.

Elsewhere, NEC and Kitara played out a thrilling 3–3 draw at Lugogo, Mbarara City were held to a goalless draw by Lugazi FC, while Express beat Buhimba United Saints 3–1 at Hamz Stadium.
