As they continue to bolster their squad ahead of the forthcoming 2023/24 season, URA FC have completed the signing of goalkeeper Denis Otim.

The goalkeeper, who traded at Express FC last season, has penned down a two-year employment contract with the four-time Uganda Premier League champions.

The move fuels further reports of custodian and skipper, Nafian Alionzi’s exit, as Otim is viewed as his direct replacement.

“I am extremely happy to join URA FC because it’s one of the big clubs in Uganda,” said Otim during his unveiling on Monday.

“It’s a new challenge for me as I come at a club where there is competition which I know will push me to work harder.”

“I want to help the club win the trophy in my first season because I am a winner and I want to keep many clean sheets,” he added.

Otim is a Uganda Premier League and CECAFA Kagame Cup winner with Express, feats he achieved in 2021 under head coach, Wasswa Bbosa.

Now 23 years old, he was also part of the Uganda Cranes squad that took part in the Tri Nation tournament in Libya in 2022 as well as the Uganda Cranes CHAN team that played in the qualifiers in 2022.

Otim joins in as the seventh signing for the club in the ongoing summer window after Denis Luzige Kisiriko, John Innocent Kisolo, Amis Bwangani, Godfrey Sekibengo, Ibrahim Wammanah and Moses Aliro.
