Uganda Cranes winger Usama Arafat Kizza has left KCCA FC to join Vipers SC after failed moves abroad.

The 21-year-old confirmed his exit in a heartfelt message on Saturday, thanking KCCA’s management, coaches, teammates, and fans for their support during his three years at Lugogo.

He joined the club in 2021 after being named MVP in the Buganda Masaza Cup and quickly grew into one of the league’s brightest young attackers.

Vipers signed him on a three-year deal after his KCCA contract expired, edging out South African sides TS Galaxy and Durban City.

The move is also a homecoming of sorts Usama studied at St Mary’s Kitende, the school closely tied to the Venoms.

KCCA had tried to extend his stay, but talks broke down as the club’s $100,000 demand for training compensation scared off North African suitors.

He now joins a revamped Vipers squad alongside Robin Kane Hney, Mark Yallah, Taddeo Lwanga, Odili Chukwuma, Kevin Dasylva Bady, Ashraf Mandela, and Enock Ssebaggala.

Usama was part of Uganda’s CHAN squad that reached the quarterfinals, where his pace and direct play added to his growing reputation.
