Uganda Squash and Rackets Association today, November 17, held an orientation for the 2025 Africa Seniors Squash Championship at the Pearl of Africa Hotel in Kampala.
Hosting the 2025 Championship, Africa Squash President Dr. Lucky Mulilo is in Uganda for the second time in two years.

In his words, he appreciated Uganda for hosting the championship, “As Africa Squash, we are happy that the championship is going to happen in the good environment of Uganda.
Many countries have let us down, for example, Kenya, which had to host in 2023 and ended up not holding that year’s championship.” he further noticed
With Uganda making history by hosting its first Africa Squash Championship, National Council of Sports official James Kasumba praised the moment, “We are glad that Uganda is now making news for a good cause.

He added “Sports excellence continues to rise, and this is because of combined responses from both national sports governing bodies and the government. โ
โAnd here we are working hand in hand with USRA, therefore we congratulate Ugandans for pulling this continental event to happen here in Kampala.” he concluded
At the event, USRA President John Bosco Ahimbisibwe Tamwesigire revealed 11 countries to be participating nations with over 100 players representing those nations.
On behalf of the main host, USRA General Secretary Shifah Nantambi joyously stated, “Today we have gone down in history for hosting the first Squash Championship on a Continental level.โ
โIt’s a milestone that carries the Ugandan flag high, and it also gives a great chance for Team Uganda to perform better with the fact that they are playing in a major event at home.”
The championship, which has countries like Sierra Leone, Nigeria, South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Uganda’s neighboring nations, is commencing for six days with the climax set on Saturday, November 22.


From the earlier information, Pearl of Africa Hotel has joined Kampala Club and Kabira Country Club as the hosting venues of the Africa Squash Championship.
