USSSA impressed with Janan SS sports facilities at Bombo Campus ahead of Elite Secondary Schools games

On Wednesday, February 4, a team from the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association, led by the association’s Chief Executive Officer, accompanied by the Chairman of the Football Committee, Ms. Alice Alwenyi, Competitions Director Emmanuel Kasakya, and Head of Marketing and Public Relations Omario Bosco, visited Janan SS Bombo Campus.

The team, accompanied by Ms. Grace Abalo from the Department of Physical Education and Sports at the Ministry of Education and Sports, was obligated to carry out the final inspection at Janan SS Bombo Campus.

Following the inspection, the team was left impressed with the standard of the sports facilities in place. The USSSA CEO highlighted, “We have carried out a successful final inspection at Janan SS Bombo Campus and found out that the school can host this year’s Elite Secondary Schools games. They have well-equipped accommodations, a good football pitch, Volleyball, Basketball, Handball, Netball courts, and a Rugby Ground all ready for the games.”

He added, “We also certified with the facilities at nearby schools, including Standard High School Bombo, Bombo Army, and we are hoping to have a successful 2026 Elite Secondary Schools games.”

The team was received by school Head Teacher Joseph Mukwaya, who revealed that a warm welcome awaits school teams participating in the 7 sports disciplines of the games slated for February 26 to March 1.

“We are privileged to host the Elite Secondary School games. For those who have students who love sports and games, come to Janan because we have all the facilities to host these games,” Joseph Mukwaya, Head teacher Janan SS, Bombo campus.
