In the ongoing Wakiso Zone qualifiers to the 2026 USSSA Boys Football National Championship, on day two Madina Islamic bounced back to life with two wins to lead Group F.
On day one, the Nsangi Katereke-based Secondary School was shocked by Imperial SS who beat them 1-0 at Imperial ground. On their return on Thursday morning, they defeated Maryland with Michell Kabika’s only goal in the game played on Mwererwe grounds.
In their third game of the group, Madina Islamic defeated Kajjansi Progressive SS 3-0 again at Mwererwe grounds. Captain Shikib Ssempijja scored twice with penalties in either half and Ismail Andama scored an own goal.
In the game, Kajjansi Progressive finished with fewer players as a result of referee Allan Musisi’s dismissals of Farid Aliko and Crispus Kiguli for dangerous play in both halves.
In the same group, Emirates College Nkoowe also won two games, beating Imperial 2-1 and Canan High School 2-0 to get their point tally leveled with Madina Islamic at 6 points while Imperial is third with four points.
The group will climax on Friday April 10 with Madina Islamic taking on Emirates College and Canan High School. Emirates College will play its fifth game against Maryland, while Canan High School will face Maryland and Imperial, as they will be in action three times tomorrow.
Elsewhere in Group E, Standard High Zana won 2-0 over Namboole High School, St James Buddo beat Kawempe SS 1-0 and drew 0-0 with Brightland SS while Brightland also drew 1-1 with Kawempe SS.
In Group B, London College Nansana won 4-1 over St Andrews College Sanda, Entebbe Parents fought from two goals down to beat Kawanda SS 3-2 while Lake View Kitinda drew 1-1 twice against Kawanda SS and Entebbe Parents
