Ugandan international Aisha Nantongo has officially joined Chinese club Changchun Women FC, strengthening their defense ahead of the new season.
The 2024 league runners-up have placed their hopes on a trio of African talents as they prepare to challenge for the title when the season kicks off on Saturday.
The Versatile Nantongo who can play along the defensive line and defensive midfield joins Changchun alongside Burundi’s Sandrine Niyonkuru and Zambia’s Ochumba Lubandji.

Niyonkuru, a prolific forward, was the standout player in the Egyptian Women’s Premier League, leading FC Masar to a championship and securing third place in the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League.
Meanwhile, Lubandji arrives from Zambia’s Red Arrows, where she made headlines after scoring 20 goals in the first half of the Zambia Women’s Super League season.
With these signings, Changchun aims to bolster its squad and compete for top honours in the Chinese Women’s Super League.
Apart from the African trio, Changchun has also introduced four new Chinese players; defensive midfielder Yao Lingwei, Wang Huimin, Cui Miaomiao and Bai Yifan.
Changchun Women FC is scheduled to face Zhejiang on Sunday, 9th March in the Chinese Women’s Super League.
Aisha Nantongo is the second Ugandan to leave FC Masar in this transfer period after Shadia Nankya and has played for Clubs like St Noah Girls- Zzana, Kawempe Muslim and Danish first-division team Aalborg BK.
