The Victoria Sharks and Ewes sealed their places in the Uganda Rugby 7s core status playoffs after dominating Round 2 of the Central Uganda 7s at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds on Sunday. Makerere Impis also qualified as the region’s third representative.

The Sharks were ruthless in the men’s category, twice defeating Makerere Impis 19-07 in the first final and 15-12 in the second.

Fresh from their Inter-University 7s triumph, they now look to succeed where they fell short last year, when Gulu City Falcons and Kampani Eagles earned promotion instead.

The qualification came at the expense of familiar names like Warriors, Kyambogo Rugby, and Kisubi Pacers.

In the women’s bracket, the Ewes clinched their place, leaving the Panthers to try again next year.

Central will now send Sharks, Impis, Jaguars, and Warriors in the men’s playoffs, while the Ewes and Panthers carry the women’s hopes into the Entebbe 7s at Sai Pali Institute this weekend.
