Vincent and Usama Mulindwa star as Ngabi Nyunga reach Bika Quarterfinals

Vicent Mulindwa’s brace and fantastic playmaking display from Usama Uthuman Mulindwa saw Ngabi Nyunga eliminate Nkima out of Bika Bya Baganda 2025 tournament.

In the late kick-off at Lubiri SS, Ngabi Nyunga was gifted by goalkeeper Simon Tamale to score the first goal and Usama launched the second attack minutes later which resulted in the second goal.

At the halftime break, Ngabi Nyunga led 2-0 but Amuli Mukasa tried to bring back hope to Nkima with a goal from a penalty that brought the game to 2-1, the score which remained up to full-time.

Progressing to the quarterfinals, the Kanyanas’ have set up a clash against Ngabi Nsamba, the defending champions and the first to reach the stage.

In the same group, Disan Galiwango scored the only goal that helped Mmamba Kakoboza to overcome Lugave in a 1-0 win at Kawanda SS.

In other groups, Omutima Omusagi defeated Butiko 3-1 at Lubiri SS on Thursday, 22 May, with Shakib Mayanja, Raymond Lusagi and Raymond Mayanja scoring for Omutima Omusaji while Zefania Birikadde consoled for Butiko.

In that group, Ngo joined Omutima Omusaji as group runners-up to reach the quarterfinals following a 0-0 draw played at Kawanda SS.

In Group A, Mbogo and Balangira were both eliminated following Nsenene’s defeat of Ngabi Nsamba 2-0 at Lubiri SS, thanks to goals from coach player Fred Nkata and Billy Nkata.

Balangira defeated Mbogo 3-1 one but their heavy loss to Ngabi Nsamba in the first game of the group stage cost them.

The other teams to qualify for the quarterfinals, Ndiga and Kkobe, reached the quarterfinals in a dramatic style, with the game paused in play for around 10 minutes after players from both sides decided to stop playing and to stand as the minutes of the game kept running.

In the end, the game counted 0-0, assuring Ndiga to become the fourth team to reach quarterfinals, joining Ngabi Nsamba, Kkobe and Nsenene who reached the stage first.

The Bika Bya Baganda football Quarterfinals shall be played on one leg, taking place on Wednesday, 28th May 2025 at Wankulukuku Stadium and Wakisha Resource Center.
