Vipers SC and BUL FC, who are Uganda’s flag bearers in the CAF competitions for the 2022/23 campaign, will each learn their opponents on Tuesday (5pm EAT).
The draw of the CAF Preliminary round will be conducted in Cairo, Egypt, with Vipers and BUL eagerly in waiting.
By clinching the 2021/22 Uganda Premier League title, the Venoms qualified as Uganda’s representatives in the CAF Champions League.
Meanwhile, BUL will feature in the CAF Confederation Cup as they won the 2021/22 Stanbic Uganda Cup.
Vipers have failed to get past the preliminary stages in their previous continental engagements and will hope to make a strong mark.
On the other hand, it is the first time BUL will be playing on the continent and dream of a hugely strong debut.
Its however worth noting that Uganda’s representatives in the preceding campaign underwhelmed.
URA FC, who played in the Confederation Cup, was beaten 1-0 on aggregate by Al Masry in the Second Round.
Meanwhile Express FC was dumped out by El-Merrikh, after a 2-2 aggregate. The latter progressed with a better away goals advantage.
